Tuesday Tot Craft Time: Pumpkins & Turkeys

Today was Fall at the library's kids' craft time.  They provided the kids with paper cut outs of turkeys and pumpkins, paper plates, markers, and a stapler.  We made a turkey from tracing around my son's hand.  Then he stapled the pumpkins and turkeys to the paper plate.  So that we could hang it up, I stapled a pipe cleaner to the back.

This is a cute little idea for a place settings.  Its a paper pumpkin.  Cut out 8 circles, all the same size, out of orange paper.  Fold 7 of them in half and cut a slit in the center, leaving a quarter of an inch uncut.   While it is still folded in half, punch a hole on one side near the folded edge.  Next put the folded circles around the uncut circle via the cut slits.  Then string the punched holes together with a pipe cleaner.  I used a marker to curl the pipe cleaner to make it look like a stem / vine.  I want to make more of these but out of painted food boxes.
