Snowy Owls

I joined a CAL (crochet along) last week to make this Snowy Owl pattern.  It is a very easy pattern that can be made in less than 2 hours.  There are 4 parts to it: the body, 2 wings, and a tail.  I used puffy paint to add the details to it.  It was so easy to make that I made a smaller one.  The top one was made using worsted weight yarn and an F hook.  The smaller one (below) was made using a size 2 hook and lace weight yarn (with sequins in the yarn).  An added bonus was that I turned it in for a Hedwig challenge (Harry Potter's pet owl).

Horcrux Hexiflats and Charity Hats

I finished making all of my horcrux hexiflats and joined them together.  Harry's mouth is to big, but I'm going to leave it alone.  Here is a link to my 5 charts and the 2 other charts that I used to make them.
I am also trying to meet my 5 hat promise for Cancer Care of Maine.  Many people in Hogwarts at Ravelry are making them.  Here are my 2nd and 3rd hat.  One person is making a hat for every hat that other people are making for this charity.  That is amazing!  I am using Loops and Threads Charisma yarn and size 10 needles.  The yarn is super soft, which is perfect for people who might not have any hair at the moment.  Here is the free pattern that I'm following.  It is a very easy pattern, and I'm able to make a hat in a single day.  I am trying to make hats for men, since apparently Cancer Care of Maine is usually low on hats for men.  Michaels craft supply store is currently having a sale on the Charisma yarn, so I bought enough skeins to make 4 hats (not including the first one that I made last month).

Hexipuff Charts - a thestral, a motorcycle, and a broom

These 3 hexipuff charts were inspired by modes of transportation in the Harry Potter series.

a motorcycle (Hagrid has a flying one)
a broom with foot rests

The numbers let me know how many hexiflats that I have made so far.
I used duplicate stitch to create mine.

Moonfish Hexipuff Charts

I was inspired by an image from a movie when designing these two hexipuff charts (based on The Beekeeper's Quilt pattern by tiny owl knits).

Here is my finished one using duplicate stitch:

Hunting Horcruxes - Hexipuff Charts

If you are a fan of the Harry Potter series and love to make hexipuffs (from The Beekeeper's Quilt pattern by tiny owl knits), then you might enjoy hunting these horcruxes.  I designed 5 horcrux inspired hexipuff charts, and I have linked to two others that I have found elsewhere.

Open book (can be used to represent Tom Riddle's diary)
Helga Hufflepuff's cup
Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem
Gaunt's ring
Slytherin's locket

Just Add Water - 6 Hexipuff Charts

Here are 6 hexipuff charts that designed inspired by the Australian t.v. show H2O: Just Add Water.
These charts go with the Beekeeper’s Quilt by tiny owl knits.

More Hexiflats and My Hexipuff Charts

I have been on a real hexiflat kick this month.  Here are my most recent ones.
These water drops (reverse image of one another) are my designs (the chart link is below).
This open book is one of my designs (the chart link is below).
Helga's Cup (from the Harry Potter series) is one of my designs.

Plus I published 7 of my hexipuff charts on ravelry today.
- Just Add Water: 3 water drop charts and the h2o logo from the show H2O: Just add Water.
- Open Book (pictured above)

ETA: These charts are now being published on my blog, and can be found in the next 2 blog posts.

Wavy Dishcloth and Water Drop Earrings

Earlier this month one of my ravelry friends, RecycleCindy, asked me if I could test a dishcloth pattern for her.  Of course I said yes.  Here is my wavy ripple dishcloth using the cotton yarn that I bought on vacation from Hobby Lobby (it's their store's brand).  Here is Cindy's free pattern for this dishcloth.   It is a quick and easy pattern to make.  She made a few examples so that you can see what it looks like with different yarns (stripes and solids).

I also made these water drop earrings one night.  These were super quick to make.  Next time I'm going to use a smaller yarn and hook.  Here is the free pattern for them.

I also finished making another dishcloth this week.  Last month was all about making dishcloths, but this month I have only made 2.  This month, for me, is all about making hexiflats.

More Hexiflats plus my favorite chart links

The mini challenge in the Disney Adventures group in ravelry this month was H2O: Just Add Water (an Australian Disney teen show).  I actually love this show, and I found out that they are making a 4th season right now.  Plus the maker of the show made a Nickelodeon spin off called Mako Mermaids (available on Netflixs).  So for the challenge I designed 3 hexiflats to represent the h2o logo, plus I designed a water drop hexiflat (they turn into mermaids when they get wet).  The mermaid design can be found here.
After making this Minecraft creeper hexiflat, my youngest took it and put it in his room.
Here is a black cat hexiflat.
I made a few blank hexiflats as well.
Here is another mustache hexiflat.  Here is the chart for it.

Last week I copied a lot of hexipuff charts and put them into a folder on my computer, so that I wouldn't have to hunt them down anymore.  I can't remember exactly where the cat and creeper charts were from, so I thought that I would share my 3 favorite hexipuff chart links.  There are other charts in these links as well.
