May Block of the Month

This block of the month is from the box exchange in my quilt guild.    The person whose block this is wanted a Christmas theme.  I will be remaking it to match the other blocks that I have made for the block of the month.  You can use 2 to 4 different fabrics for this.  If you use two fabrics, then you can get a cross in the center of the block.

Cut two 3.5" x 6.5" from fabric A (blue)
Cut two 3.5" x 6.5" from fabric B (green)
Cut two 3.5" x 6.5" from fabric C (red)
Cut two 3.5" x 6.5" from fabric D (tan)

* The colors can change to what you want to use.

Sew fabrics A and B together (blue and green) and sew fabrics C and D together (red and tan).

Iron the seams towards the darker color.

Sew the AB blocks to the CD blocks.  Then iron the seams towards the D (tan) fabric.

Sew your 2 remaining blocks together so that you have an AB/CD set on top and a CD/AB set on the bottom.  Then iron the seams to which ever side that you choose.

The unfinished block should be 12.5" squared.  It will be 12" squared when sewn to other blocks or sashing.
