Wreaths, owl dishcloth, and penguin ornaments

I made these 12 mini wreaths in 2 days.  I'm going to be glueing pin backs on them this week.  Some will be gifts and others will be donated to my church's holiday fair.  Here is the pattern that I made up for them (using a plastic ring for the center).  

• sc in the ring all the way around
• sl st into first st, then chain 3
• 2 dc in every st.
• sl st in first dc
• You can either end it here, which I do for worsted weight yarns, or you can make 1 more round (which I do with lace weight yarns).
• ch 3, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in the next 2 to 3 sts (its up to you) repeat around, and join with a sl st in the 1st dc.

I knitted this owl illusion dishcloth last week.  It's my first illusion knit.  I have to make more of these, because everyone's reaction to it is fantastic.  Here is the free pattern for it.

Tonight I worked on these 46 egg carton penguin ornaments.  I still need to add the ribbon hangers.  Some will be gifts, but most of them will be donated to my church's holiday fair.  Their theme this year is penguins, so these are perfect for it.

Log Cabin Dishcloth

I read 2 different knitted log cabin patterns, and then went by instinct and what I read to make this Chevron Log Cabin dishcloth.  I used different shades of blue, and crochet a border around it.

Birds and a Caterpillar

I finished knitting this 3 bluebirds dishcloth last night.  It was from a German pattern.  I don't speak German, but it was very easy to follow.  Someone gave me a translation of the abbreviations, which helped a lot.  

R= Knit L= Purl and all odd numbered rows are knit, small Nupps (from the pattern): kfb (make 2 stitches out of one), turn, purl these 2, turn, k2tog, go on with your row.

I also got to test this very cute caterpillar amigurumi pattern recently.  The last few days have been a struggle to finish it, not because of the pattern but because of life.  It is a Christmas present for my youngest son, so for the last few days I could only work on it after he went to bed.  Now it is safely hidden until I can wrap it up.  He is just so cute!  I used the colors of The Very Hungry Caterpillar when making it.  It is a very easy pattern, and I recommend any of TBoutiqueCritters's patterns. Mine ended up being 19.5 inches long x about 5 inches wide.  I hope my son likes it.

Heart Dishcloth

I started knitting this heart with wings dishcloth on July 1st, but put it down after only a few rows.  I picked back up the other day and finished it last night.  Here is the free pattern for it.

Hat and Dragonfly

I just finished crocheting this Galway Slouchy crochet beret today.  It will be sent to Hats Off for Cancer's Mad Hatter Drive.   

I also just finished pattern testing this dragonfly pattern for TBoutiqueCritters.  He is so cute.I learned a new way to make wings that I now want to use for making Monster High doll costumes.

Dishcloths and Cat Toys

Over the last 2 months I have slowly knit these 3 dishcloths.  I've worked on them during movie nights, because I can knit these simple dishcloths with my eyes closed.

We love going to Hershey Park every Summer, so I couldn't wait to make this Hershey Kiss dishcloth in memory of all of the fun that we have had there (including when I was a kid myself).  Here is the free pattern.

I made 2 cat toys that can hang from a door knob.  Inside of the ball part is a plastic jingle ball cat toy.  We just got 2 new kittens this month, and they have had fun playing with their new toy.  Here is the free pattern.  I just added 10 more chain stitches to the blue area to make one of them longer.

Crocodile Stitch Owl

I just finished crocheting this owl container last night.  I used this pattern, but I made her bigger.  Next time I will make a round base instead of sewing it closed flat.  I just love her.  Here eyes are painted on.
