I finished knitting the cabled cowl from Vogue Knitting Winter 2009, pattern #12 last night. Believe it or not, this was my first time knitting with wool. It is also my first cowl, and the first time that I used a knitting chart. Three is a magic number. I had never worn a cowl before, so I did a ravelry search for other people who had also made this cowl to see how they wore it. These were the two most popular ways to wear it. I prefer the top one. You may remember that I helped teach some Sunday school classes where we showed the kids how to dye Lionbrand's Fisherman Wool with Kool Aid. The 3rd graders dyed this wool, and I won it at my church's auction. There is enough wool left over to make a hat or gloves out of. Now to find just the right pattern for the leftover wool.
This project is linked on Fibers on Friday on Visions of Sugar Plums blog.
You can link your fiber projects on there as well.
Kristy, that is GORGEOUS!! You look so beautiful in it! And how special that it's the yarn your Sunday schoolers dyed. What a fantastic piece.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! It's beautiful. I tried knitting a cowl over the winter, and it was just not right, so I frogged it. If you have time, stop at my blog on Fridays and link your knitting projects. I try to post every Friday....and so far no one has been brave enough to share their projects :-)
